Dropping a Rock in the Shoe of a Jehovah’s Witness

Sep 25, 2018, News and Updates

It was a Saturday morning this past summer. I had just put on my running gear for a three and a half mile run and stepped out the front door, when I saw them – a grown man, a middle school-ish aged young man, and a young girl. They were all dressed nicely, and they […]

The Missing Ingredient – Love

Sep 18, 2018, News and Updates

What if someone told you that in evaluating your life, the missing ingredient was love? Would that be tough to hear? Would it be tough to admit? Would it be tough to wrestle with? Well, the words of Scripture, in this case, would offer you little comfort, as a succinct paraphrase of I Corinthians 13:1-3 […]

When Men Study God’s Word Together

Sep 11, 2018, News and Updates

Something happens when men study God’s Word together!  That was the thought that gripped my heart when I saw more than 50 men gather at Friendship last Monday night. They were present for an informational meeting about the first-ever weeknight men’s Bible study in our church. We know that there is power in united prayer. […]

Sunrise at FBC

Apr 04, 2018, News and Updates

One of my favorite services since I was a youngster (and that’s a loooong time ago) is the Easter Sunrise service. Not every church where we’ve ministered or attended has had this service, and we’ve also seen variety in the way it is conducted. While getting up extra early is not the part I enjoy […]

A Word from Pastor – On the Passing of Billy Graham

Mar 06, 2018, News and Updates

No doubt many of you did as I did last Friday afternoon and watched the livestreaming of the funeral service for Evangelist Billy Graham, who just passed at the age of 99. He was known for decades as “America’s Pastor.” Thousands came to Christ through his preaching and writings – including some in our church. […]

23 Dreams in 2018

Mar 01, 2018, News and Updates

As I write this, we are exactly two months into 2018. For many people, that means that you are two months into your journey, adventure, or possibly failure (hopefully not!) of what many people call “New Year’s resolutions.” New Year’s resolutions have become synonymous with humor because, in so many cases, the enthusiasm that comes […]

After Becky Reece attended the Friendship ladies retreat last summer, followed by the Bible study “Adorned” which encourages women to purposefully invest in others’ lives, an idea was born. She set out to open her home twice a month to ladies of Friendship, from young moms to seasoned grandmas, to offer a place of fun […]
