Les Walden

“I made a profession of faith as a 14-year-old. My faith really grew when my wife of 8 months and I moved away from our hometown and all that we had known. Though our family and friends did their best to support us long-distance, our reliance on each other and more-so on the Lord was integral to our lives. We found a wonderful church, and I began to serve in many areas. My faith deepened, and my walk with the Lord became the thing that I lived for. Once the Lord brought me to Christian service through school administration, it became very clear that He had been preparing me for this all my life. I am passionate about serving Him in a Christian school.”

Les has worked in law enforcement and the corporate world and has owned small businesses. He did not realize at the time, but every role he served in ultimately prepared him to serve in Christian school administration. He knows that God had a perfect plan for his life. Les earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and is close to finishing a Master’s degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling. He is very excited about this season of life as he serves Friendship Christian School alongside some wonderful people who love the Lord. He wants everyone to find abundant life in the Lord, as he has.

Shannon is Les’ high school sweetheart, and they were married in 1993. They have three children—Anna Faith, Abram, and Andersen. They also raise chickens, goats, and a rabbit.

Les loves to read, travel the country in his RV, take the boat out, and ride his bike. If all his family is with him in the RV, it is all the better! They have made some great memories all over this great nation. National parks are his favorite places to visit as he marvels at God’s creation.

About Friendship Baptist Church

Our purpose is to make much of our Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel through the preaching of His Word and the making of disciples. At Friendship Baptist Church (FBC) we teach the Bible in order to facilitate spiritual growth in all of God’s people and to provide opportunities for Christian fellowship. God has graciously used Friendship to further His work both locally and across the globe since 1965.
