Samuel Ayers

“I grew up in a Christian home in Wilmington, North Carolina. Through my parents, my grandparents, my school, and my church there, I came to know that I was a sinner but that Jesus died for my sin. He rose again so that I could be saved from sin and death if I turned from my sin and turned to Him. Through my family’s move to Raleigh, I came under the influence of godly men who cared about me and created an environment that encouraged me to grow in Christ. God used the Wilds Christian Camp when I was in middle school to encourage and equip me to pursue a pure heart for Christ and to learn more about God from His Word. Building off of that, He also used the Anchorage Christian Camp when I was in high school to further mature me and to give me a desire to help others with His words of life. Grace abounding more than my sin is the story of my life, leading me to yield my members for His service.”

Samuel’s desire to encourage others with God’s Word for God’s glory began when he was in high school serving at the Anchorage Christian Camp. He then went on to earn his undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies.

While serving at the Anchorage, Sam met and fell and love with his wonderful wife Faith-Ann, and they got married in June of 2026. They currently both serve at Friendship Baptist Church and Christian School—Samuel as an FBC pastoral intern and Bible teacher for FCS and Faith-Ann as Office Support Staff at FCS.

When Sam’s not working, he enjoys traveling to new places, reading (especially books on theology), and enjoying sports. He loves soccer most but also enjoys watching Kansas basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Carolina Hurricanes.

About Friendship Baptist Church

Our purpose is to make much of our Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel through the preaching of His Word and the making of disciples. At Friendship Baptist Church (FBC) we teach the Bible in order to facilitate spiritual growth in all of God’s people and to provide opportunities for Christian fellowship. God has graciously used Friendship to further His work both locally and across the globe since 1965.
