Faces of Friendship: Col. Steve Martin Serves God and Country

Apr 26, 2018, News and Updates

A decorated United States Air Force Colonel, Steve Martin keeps a plaque on his desk given to him by his grandmother with his life verses: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 Whether […]

One Christian’s Imperfect Prayer Life (How I Do It)

Apr 17, 2018, News and Updates

Recently in our ABF Foundations study, we spent two weeks on the subject of prayer.  Devotional plans and books seem to garner “headlines” with through-the-Bible-in-a-year plans, numerous devotional books and apps, and a number of helps that assist a person in having a plan to spend time in the Bible.  Prayer is a bit more […]

Sunrise at FBC

Apr 04, 2018, News and Updates

One of my favorite services since I was a youngster (and that’s a loooong time ago) is the Easter Sunrise service. Not every church where we’ve ministered or attended has had this service, and we’ve also seen variety in the way it is conducted. While getting up extra early is not the part I enjoy […]

A Word from Pastor – On the Passing of Billy Graham

Mar 06, 2018, News and Updates

No doubt many of you did as I did last Friday afternoon and watched the livestreaming of the funeral service for Evangelist Billy Graham, who just passed at the age of 99. He was known for decades as “America’s Pastor.” Thousands came to Christ through his preaching and writings – including some in our church. […]

23 Dreams in 2018

Mar 01, 2018, News and Updates

As I write this, we are exactly two months into 2018. For many people, that means that you are two months into your journey, adventure, or possibly failure (hopefully not!) of what many people call “New Year’s resolutions.” New Year’s resolutions have become synonymous with humor because, in so many cases, the enthusiasm that comes […]

Feb 15, 2018, News and Updates

After Becky Reece attended the Friendship ladies retreat last summer, followed by the Bible study “Adorned” which encourages women to purposefully invest in others’ lives, an idea was born. She set out to open her home twice a month to ladies of Friendship, from young moms to seasoned grandmas, to offer a place of fun […]

Eternal Life Starts Now

“There are only two things in this life that are eternal: the Word of God and the souls of men.” A passionate camp evangelist repeated this phrase over and over again urging the audience to consider an investment. “Do you want your life to be significant? Invest in those two things.” As I sat there […]

Music – What We Do and Why

Most people would describe our music at Friendship Baptist Church as “traditional.” That is fair and understandable but probably not totally accurate. The style of the music is fairly “traditional.” And yes, we do sing many of the time-honored, great hymns of the Christian faith, as well. However, we also sing many new songs. What […]

Ladies’ Bible Study Preview

Whether you’re a veteran Bible study attendee or someone who has been pretty sure that a ladies’ Bible study isn’t really your “thing,” you probably have some clear associations with the whole idea that either pull you in or push you away. As we prepare for our winter ladies’ Bible studies, we want to give […]

About Friendship Baptist Church

Our purpose is to make much of our Lord Jesus Christ and His gospel through the preaching of His Word and the making of disciples. At Friendship Baptist Church (FBC) we teach the Bible in order to facilitate spiritual growth in all of God’s people and to provide opportunities for Christian fellowship. God has graciously used Friendship to further His work both locally and across the globe since 1965.
